Africa Plantation Capital (APC), which produces and exports bamboo fibre for the textile industry, has been awarded the 2017 ‘Agribusiness of the Year’ by the Kenya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI). The award fortifies APC’s position as the leading agribusiness management firm in Kenya and as a key agribusiness leader in the African continent.

The award ceremony was held in Mombasa city of Kenya, recently.

Bamboo fibre is softer than cotton fibre and has a texture similar to a blend of cashmere and silk. Natural antibacterial elements in bamboo fibre keep bacteria away from bamboo fabrics.

APC is a plantation and farm management company whose primary business focus is to create and manage sustainable bamboo plantations in Kenya and the East African region. In addition to producing and exporting bamboo fibre for the garment and textile industry, APC also focuses on bamboo activated carbon for military and industrial uses, bamboo biomass for clean energy production and bamboo flooring for end user consumers.
