bp has agreed to acquire a 60 per cent stake in three offshore blocks PEL97, PEL99 and PEL100 in Namibia’s Walvis Basin from Eco Atlantic. Subject to approvals, bp will operate the assets, strengthening its upstream portfolio. The move builds on recent exploration successes and supports long-term growth in frontier basins. It also marks bp’s entry as an operator in Namibia.
