Power consumption across primary industries increased by 8.6 per cent compared to the previous year. Secondary and tertiary sectors saw an uptick of 8.7 per cent and 16.9 per cent, respectively. Residential power consumption also rose, marking a YoY increase of 6.6 per cent to 103.5 billion kilowatt-hours in September, according to the latest data from the National Energy Administration.
The first three quarters of the year witnessed an overall 5.6 per cent rise in the country’s electricity consumption, amounting to 6.86 trillion kilowatt-hours. Meanwhile, apparent consumption of natural gas in the January-August period escalated by 7.4 per cent YoY, as per the National Development and Reform Commission.
