China's major electricity producers see 2.3% rise in power generation

China's major electricity producers see 2.3% rise in power generation

China's major electricity production enterprises recorded a 2.3 per cent year-on-year (YoY) increase in power generation in June, according to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). The total power output for these firms reached 768.5 billion kilowatt-hours for the month.

A detailed analysis of the data shows significant growth in renewable energy sources. Solar power output surged by 18.1 per cent compared to the same period last year, while hydropower output saw an impressive 44.5 per cent increase.

Conversely, thermal power output decreased by 7.4 per cent YoY, and nuclear power generation dropped by 4 per cent.
