China's natural gas consumption rises 11.9% in Jan-April 2024

In April alone, natural gas consumption rose by 11.8 per cent compared to the same period last year, reaching 35.46 billion cubic metres.

During the January-April period, the country produced 83 billion cubic metres of natural gas, reflecting a 5 per cent increase from the previous year. Additionally, China imported 43 million tonnes of natural gas in the same period, up 20.7 per cent year-on-year, as per the National Bureau of Statistics.
