To boost investor confidence, the Indian ministry of textiles recently issued a clarification to allay reported disinformation regarding investment accrued by Gujarat state since 2014-15 in the textile sector. The textile commissioner’s office has recorded the figure as ₹30,934 crore as per data submitted by 7,182 textile units, the ministry said.
The central government sanctioned and released ₹1855 crore to aid 2,109 textile units in the state through 60 banks, it said in a press release. (DS)
