India’s department for promotion of industry and internal trade (DPIIT) recently launched a website on intellectual property rights (IPR) and a mobile application, called ‘Learn to Protect, Secure and Maximize Your Innovation’. Both were developed by DPIIT’s Cell for IPR Promotion and Management in collaboration with Qualcomm and National Law University, Delhi.

DPIIT secretary Guruprasad Mohapatra said both will prove useful for start-ups, which generally lack legal knowledge.

The modules of this e-learning platform L2Pro India will aid and enable youth, innovators, entrepreneurs and small and medium industries (SMEs) in understanding IPR, integrate IP into business models and obtain value for their research and development, according to an official release.

L2Pro has been successfully implemented in Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy and France.
