The E-Commerce Association of Bangladesh (ECAB) and Bangladesh Foreign Trade Institute (BFTI) recently signed an agreement to jointly work for creating e-commerce entrepreneurship through workshop and research. ECAB aims to create new entrepreneurs and work for policymaking and capacity-building among the youth, according to its president Shomi Kaiser.

The e-commerce sector may surpass the readymade garments sector in future, Kaiser said.

ECAB also announced that April 7 will be observed as e-commerce day and April 7-13 as e-commerce week for the fourth time with the theme ‘business to e-business’, according to a report by a Bangladesh news agency.

During the e-commerce week, merchants will offer discounts for their online customers. (DS)
