Ecocert India, world’s leading certification body, hosted a corporate event in Coimbatore to promote sustainable business practices. More than 50 textile exporters from Tirupur, Coimbatore and Karur attended the event.

“With about 50 per cent of India’s textile exports coming from Tamil Nadu, it is one of our important markets and I am sure the industry here is bound to grow,” said Philippe Thomazo. While addressing the audience about the new services of Fair for Life, For Life and CSR, Anil Jadhav said, “We, as a leading sustainability services company remain focused on integrating sustainability in everything we do, and this will contribute to retention of our leadership position.”

The event was well-received by attendees who discussed the challenges and possible solutions that can support the textile and home textile industry in the region. It also promoted networking amongst Ecocert, industry experts, and government bodies. “We remain committed to deliver world class certification and sustainability services and look forward to perpetual relations with our clients,” Abhishek Kamble, technical manager, Ecocert India, concluded.

Thomazo Philippe, CEO, Ecocert Group; Anil Jadhav, managing director, Ecocert India; and Sumit Gupta, deputy director, Standards Development & Quality Assurance – GOTS, were the key speakers. The event also witnessed the attendance of Dr. KP Vetrivel from ATDC. (RR)
