The lowest annual rates were registered in the Netherlands at -0.3 per cent, Denmark at 0.6 per cent, and Belgium at 0.7 per cent. The highest annual rates were recorded in Hungary at 12.2 per cent, Romania at 9.2 per cent, and Slovakia at 9.0 per cent. Compared with August, annual inflation fell in 21 member states, remained stable in one and rose in five, according to Eurostat, the statistical office of the EU.
In September 2023, the contributions of non-energy industrial goods and energy to the annual euro area’s inflation rate were 1.06 percentage points (pp) and -0.55 pp, respectively.
