Euro area inflation rate expected to be 7% in Apr 2023: Eurostat

The euro area’s annual inflation is expected to be 7 per cent in April 2023, up from 6.9 per cent in March, as per a flash estimate from Eurostat.

Looking at the main components of euro area inflation, non-energy industrial goods are expected to have an inflation rate of 6.2 per cent in April 2023 compared with 6.6 per cent in March and that of energy is projected at 2.5 per cent, compared with -0.9 per cent in March, said Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union.

Inflation rates measured by the harmonised indices of consumer prices (HICP) are anticipated to be the highest for Latvia at an estimated 15 per cent and the lowest for Luxembourg at an estimated 2.7 per cent for April 2023.
