Euro area sees inflation rate drop to 4.3% in Sept 2023

Euro area’s annual inflation rate is expected to be at 4.3 per cent in September 2023, down from 5.2 per cent in August, as per a flash estimate from Eurostat.

Looking at the main components of euro area inflation, September’s annual rate for non-energy industrial goods stood at 4.2 per cent, compared with 4.7 per cent in August, and energy at -4.7 per cent, compared with -3.3 per cent in August, Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union, said in a press release.

Annual inflation rate in the euro area saw a slight reduction from 5.3 per cent in July to 5.2 per cent in August 2023, a substantial decrease from the 9.1 per cent documented in August 2022.
