In a bid to improve the production and promotion of tussar, lac items and handicraft, the Jharkhand government will form three separate boards, said chief minister Raghubar Das. Steps will be taken to increase the overall production of textiles by enhancing the quality of lac and tussar. Rural women and youth will also work in textile manufacturing units.

It is not possible for the government to create jobs, but will improve the skills of people by training and involving them in the process of producing textile products, said Das while inaugurating Rashtriya Khadi Evam Saras Mahotsav in Ranchi organised by Jharkhand khadi gramodyog board. The products created by rural women and youth will also be displayed internationally.

In the budget 2017, strategies will be discussed to end unemployment and poverty in Jharkhand. “The budget will come up with schemes related to skill development and self-employment. More medium, small and cottage industries would be set up to end unemployment,” he said during the inaugural programme.

The 22-day khadi fair will conclude on January 8, 2017. (RR)
