The board of directors of Century Textiles and Industries Ltd, a Birla Group company, recently elected Kumar Mangalam Birla as its chairman with immediate effect. The members met following the demise on July 3 of its previous chairman industrialist BK Birla, under whose leadership the company diversified into cement, paper and real estate.
