Crystal Group has stopped Shark Fin banquets since 2010, echoing to WWF’s Shark Fin Initiative to the conservation of sharks.
In 2012, Crystal Group has formally established its own “No Shark Fin” Policy demonstrating its commitment to protecting the declining shark population. The policy stated that the Group will not consume shark fin in any occasion, no matter when and where, and this policy is applicable across the companies and factories owned by the Group covering 8 regions and 5 countries.
“We have no reason not to support such good act which contribute to the nature, echoing our commitment to a sustainable future,” Chairman of the Group, Mr Kenneth Lo remarked.
Crystal Group recognises the need for a policy to conserve the declining shark populations worldwide. Since most of the shark fin products currently available in the market are unsustainably produced, the Group is committed to stopping shark fins consumption. Through setting up a “No Shark Fin” policy, the Group demonstrates its responsible actions in ensuring the marine ecosystems are properly preserved and the long-term sustainable use of species is in place to protect these natural assets for our future.
