Mr. Madhav Lal, Secretary in the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India, urged textile entrepreneurs in Gujarat, and particularly the textile hub of Surat, to take advantage of the various schemes floated by the Government.

Mr. Lal said this while visiting few textile processing, weaving and embroidery units in Surat, Times of India reported.

The Government official discussed various Government schemes that could increase the production capacities of textile firms, and thereby boost exports.

Mr. Kamlesh Yagnik, the newly-elected president of the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI), said Tamil Nadu ranks first in taking benefit of Government schemes, as per the data with the MSME Ministry.

He added that Gujarat, as well as Surat, entrepreneurs lag far behind in taking advantage of Government schemes.
