Minister of State for Finance Omar Ayub Khan has said that the Competitiveness Supportive Fund (CSF) will bring in improved productivity of domestic industry and help increase Pakistani exports in global market.
At the presentation of CSF at Federation of Pakistan Chambers of commerce & Industry (FPCCI) Prof Michael Enright of Hong Kong University and CEO of CSF Arther Bayhan were also present.
CSF is a venture between the Ministry of Finance and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), contributing $10 million each to this fund.
He said CSF will improve competitiveness and enhance productivity through innovations and human resource development.
Omar Ayub informed that textile industry has invested more than $4.5 billion for balancing and modernization.
FPCCI should invite experts to train members of all affiliated chambers of commerce and industry and trade bodies on this issue, he said.
Omar Ayub informed of creating a healthy environment for investment and business through de-regularization, privatization and economic reforms.
Mr Bayham said competitiveness and productivity are much better in the neighbouring countries like India.
Vice President of the FPCCI Akbar Abdullah appreciated the Government's step to improve productivity and competitiveness of Pakistani manufacturers.
