Textile industry registers 13.3 percent growth in 2005

Prime Minister Kulov approved 2005 work statement of the Kyrgyz Government and has been submitted in the Parliament.
The Kyrgyz Government has reaffirmed to ensure social stability, rule of law, safety and proper operation of executive power bodies.
It further adds that ”Stabilization of the socio-political situation in the country, resolution of different conflicts, such as mass meetings, land seizure, property expropriation, problems accumulated for numerous years required much of efforts and time.
During 2005, the Government accorded top priority to avoid decadence of economy and tried to achieve macroeconomic stability, fulfillment of all international obligations as regards international creditors and donor community.
On the progress from the Government notes regardless reduction of real GDP in 2005 at 0.6 percent, positive trends were witnessed in textile industry registered a growth of 13.3 percent.
The real growth of average salary in 2005 went up 12 percent which makes 2,570 soms in nominal equivalent and exceeds the minimum consumer budget for 40 percent, states the report.
Growth in services sector, and increase in direct foreign investments in the construction volumes that went up 2.1 percent, it notes.
