Chairman, Peru Country Industry Association, Eduardo Farah Hayn, opined that national industry would be severely damaged if the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with China is signed.
He explained "China is not a free economy; we are negotiating with a country that provides all kinds of allowances that we cannot compete. I think it is not a good idea to sign FTA."
Meanwhile, Hayn welcome a part of agreement, which would allow favorable export of some products.
However, he stressed that domestic textile and clothing industry were facing problems as a result of surging cheap Chinese imports in the markets.
Even the output of Gamarra Business Center has gone down by half.
Eduardo insists that the Government implement trade protection methods on Chinese products.
