Grant of $600,000 for Fashion Week

Government has decided to grant $600,000 over three years period to New Zealand's Fashion Week for attracting buyers and media and a public day is also in the pipeline. The grant is a continuation of $1 million which has been provided by the Government spanning over a period of five years.

Trevor Mallard, Minister for Economic Development said that since Fashion week boosts the Auckland economy and it benefits at least by $30 million, the grant has been extended.

Minister further stated that show provides them opportunity to tell the world that they can give cutting edge creativity and their designers are symbol of confident New Zealand business people who are ready to take up the challenge.
