Centre-right Government announced recently it is considering that burqas and other such garments that hide the face be banned in public places, as a part of security measure.
While the Muslim groups claim that with their minority of only six percent and no strict compulsions on women, burqas are negligible, administrators believe that they can provide a perfect disguise for not only terrorists but other law-breakers.
The approval of this proposal is uncertain and is being chiefly seen as campaign strategy with national elections just round the corner.
