Fire broke out in Murari Lal Agrawal Synthetic Silk factory late last night, gutting property worth several lakhs of rupees, fire service sources said today
The silk factory, situated in Panki industrial area, was completely burnt down and three fire-tenders pressed into service could control the flames after an hour, sources said.
Fortunately there were no reports of any casualty having taken place and actual losses to the property were still being assessed.
Investigations and preliminary inquiries have identified electric short-circuit to be the cause of fire.
