1 min read
Government has signed a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with Pakistan scheduled to be effective from January 1, 2008.
Under this pact Pakistan's textile products will get duty-free access to Malaysian markets.
The agreement is likely to improve trade volume between the two countries to over US $5 billion in the next five years.
Presently, bilateral trade between Malaysia and Pakistan comes to less than $1 billion.
This will be Pakistan's third bilateral trade agreement after similar treaties with Sri Lanka and China.
