In order to cut down import dependence of local garment manufacturers, Lien Anh Co Ltd has started construction of the country's biggest centre that will supply raw materials and accessories to garment and footwear sectors.

The hub, which has already seen an investment of US $12 million in its first stage, is being built on an area of 16ha in Tan Binh Commune in the southern province of Binh Duong's Di An district.

The centre will house a wholesale market that will harbour 1,250 stalls and offices, along with a 4,500 sq m showroom area. A 45,000 sq m bonded warehouse, which can store up to 20,000 tons of goods, will also be erected.

The company has plans to inject another $8 million into the project's second phase, which will include a trade centre, sports area, hotel and a restaurant.
