Carrying forward its policy of continuous expansion, FMCG giant Emami Ltd has slotted Rs 100 crore this year for acquiring brands in both personal and health care sectors.
Sources revealed that plans are afoot to swell the personal care products kitty by adding another 18 products.
The company has already achieved considerable success after the launch of its new product, Fair and Handsome, and now wants to introduce products like shaving cream, toiletries and skin creams to the men's grooming segment.
Of these, shaving cream will be launched this year, while shampoo will debut this month.
Emami spends around Rs 120 crore each year, of which Rs 40 crore is spent on new launches alone. In 2006-07, the company had clocked sales of Rs 515 crore.
