Statistics Lithuania informs that inflation in January 2008 (January 2008 as compared with December 2007) was 1.6 per cent.
Inflation rate in January was conditioned by a 4.8 per cent rise in prices for the group of goods and services, 3.7 per cent – transport goods and services, and by a 5.7 per cent decrease in prices for clothing and footwear.
In January 2008 as compared to December 2007, prices of consumer goods increased by 1.7 per cent, while those of services – by 1.4 per cent.
