Once the second ethylene cracker of Exxon Mobil at Jurong Island is put into production, Singapore's ethylene production capacity would expand from current 4 million tons / year to 6-8 million tons / year.
This was revealed by an official for Energy and Chemicals Business of Economic Development Board (EDB) in Singapore recently.
The official said the second set of ethylene cracker of Exxon Mobil Corporation at Jurong Island is expected to put into operation in 2012 and in addition, Singapore will build several new sets of ethylene units.
