The Northern India Textile Research Association (NITRA) will impart training and skill development and also set up skill development centres for core textile mills across Tajikistan, according to a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed with the Technological University of Tajikistan (TUT).

As per the MoU, signed on the sidelines of CII Texcon 2015 conference in New Delhi, NITRA will share the knowledge and expertise of Indian textile research professionals and industrialists with their counterparts in Tajikistan, a CII press release said.

Armen Zargaryan, coordinator of International Trade Centre and leader of the 13-member Tajikistan delegation said, “We see India as one of the knowledge centres in the world which can impart tremendous skills and training, and get in touch with new vendors in Central Asian countries.”

The MoU is expected to be mutually beneficial for enterprises in both countries, and will help in increasing trade linkages and expand businesses. (RKS)
