The 'Science and Techonology (S&T) Roadmap for Textile' is for a five-year period from 2016 to 2020. It aims for making the Philippine textile industry culture-sensitive, sustainable, robust and profitable based on Filipino knowledge using locally available raw material.
The roadmap was presented recently by DOST-PCIEERD executive director Dr. Carlos Primo David at the DOST Executive Lounge in Taguig City.
“We, at the DOST, desire to help the local textile industry rise back to the ranks in the international community by employing science and technology in textile research and development,” said David during the presentation. (RKS)
