In August 2023, consumer prices in Poland witnessed a year-on-year (YoY) rise of 10.1 per cent, driven by an uptick in the costs of goods by 9.8 per cent. Comparatively, prices remained steady when matched against the preceding month, recording a marginal dip in goods by 0.2 per cent.Delving deeper, the clothing and footwear category experienced reductions in prices, dropping by 0.7 per cent, thereby pulling the index down by 0.3 percentage points, Statistics Poland said in a press release.
In August 2023, Poland saw a YoY increase in consumer prices by 10.1 per cent, with goods costing 9.8 per cent more.
Still the costs remained almost stable compared to the previous month, showing a slight decrease of 0.2 per cent in goods prices.
In the clothing and footwear sector, price fell by 0.7 per cent, bringing the index down by 0.3 points.
YoY analysis showed that the transport sector offered some respite with a 1.7 per cent dip, marginally reducing the index by 0.17 percentage points.
