Promote textile tourism between India, Bangladesh: Irani

Irani also addressed the issue of the imposition of anti-dumping duty on jute imports from Bangladesh while speaking at the Indo-Bangladesh Multi Sectoral Cooperation International Conference, according to media reports. She said that commodity dumping has affected Indian farmers’, lower income workers as well as the entire Indian jute industry.

She suggested that Bangladeshi leaders in jute diversification can work with the Indian jute companies to explore the global market.

The minister also said that the firms from both countries can work together in the fabric sector and jointly address the issues of standards and non-tariff barriers. (KD)
