SIMA 2017-18 office bearers re-elected for 2nd term

The Southern India Mills' Association (SIMA) has re-elected its office bearers for 2018-19 at the 59th annual general meeting. The new members have unanimously elected P Nataraj, MD of KPR Mill, as the chairman, K Vinayakam, MD of SCM Textile Spinners, as the deputy chairman and Ashwin Chandran, MD, Precot Meridien Limited, as vice-chairman of SIMA.

Nataraj, a science graduate and fellow member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, is a member of the committee of Confederation of Indian Textile Industry (CITI) and also the vice-president of Indian Cotton Federation. Vinayakam is the managing director of Space Textiles P Limited, Coimbatore which includes The Chennai Silks, Sree Kumaran Thangamaligan and SCM Textile Spinners.  Chandran, a B.Sc., (Hons) graduate in textile technology, UMIST, UK and post-graduate (MBA) from University of Illinois, US, is a member of Cotton Textiles Export Promotion Council, Mumbai and Confederation of Indian Textile Industry, New Delhi.

The 12th CEO's conference 'SIMA Texpin 2018' held concurrently with the annual general meeting focused on Breakthrough to Excellence with the sub-themes 'Spectrum of Opportunities' and Next Generation Leadership'. The conference focused on dealing with turbulent times caused by both the internal and external factors, converting the challenges into opportunities, weakness into strengths, creating a culture of innovation, loyalty and gaining competitive advantage and thereby foster the growth of the business, excel in performance and exceed the vision.
