Zenitex's Viral Desai honoured at Vibrant Gujarat 2019

At the event in Gandhinagar, Desai and his company Zenitex were recognised for their outstanding contribution towards quality environmental protection. Desai was honoured for the fourth time at the event. He received the award from the hands of chief minister Vijay Rupani in presence of Union minister of state for micro, small and medium enterprises Giriraj Singh, and deputy chief minister Nitin Patel.

Known as the ‘Green Man of Gujarat’, Desai has previously achieved several state, national and international level awards for constantly contributing to environmental protection and energy conservation. International honours like Mahatma Gandhi Samman received at the House of Lords, London in 2015, and national recognitions like National Energy Conservation Award which he won for three years in a row from the Government of India’s ministry of power are testimony of the excellence he has achieved at a very young age.

With an honorary doctorate degree from Vietnam for sustainability, Desai’s work and initiatives have been featured in the Introduction of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s book ‘Marching with a Billion’ authored by Uday Mahurkar. 

As an entrepreneur, Desai is recognised for the ‘Clean India, Green India’ initiative and for adopting and implementing 360-degree sustainability methods to protect mother nature. As a part of ‘Clean India Green India’ initiative, he has planted and is taking care of more than 21,000 trees along with 3,800 tree guards.

In Jianna Luxe Fabrics, Zenitex’s fabric brand, Desai ensures the use of world-class sustainable colours and windmill empowered fabric production. He believes “what you wear matters” and promotes sustainable fashion with the help of his brand.

Also, through his ‘Clean India, Green India’ campaigns, he constantly helps the society save forests for the future generations, thus, encouraging to build a pollution-free, green environment. (RKS)
