The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) recently approved projects to set up three factories that would create more than 3,000 jobs. These include a $5.6-million shoe factory by Zhuo Kang Shoes Co. Ltd. in Khan Kamboul, Phnom Penh, and a $5.1-million cotton yarn factory by Yanling Accessories (Cambodia) Co. Ltd. in Kampong Speu.The third, a $44.2-million wood processing factory in Kampong Siem district, Kampong Cham, will be owned by Green Vision Rising Co. Ltd, according to Cambodian media reports.
The shoe factory is expected to create 2,149 jobs, while cotton yarn factory is likely to generate around 200 jobs.
