Chinese retail sales grow 10.1% y-o-y in April

Retail sales have contributed significantly to China's economic growth as the country shifts from an export-driven economy to a consumer society.

Earlier this month, China's General Administration of Customs (GAC) reported that the country's exports in yuan-denominated terms rose 4.1 per cent year on year in April, while imports dipped 5.7 per cent. (SH)
