The need for digital availability of more sustainable products and the demand for a simpler home décor journey—a slight shift towards readymades instead of customised—are the major changes brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic among customers, according to Ajay Arora, managing director of Indian company D'Decor, which makes woven upholstery and curtain fabrics.

Another change under digital is companies need to use the digital channel to show how the product will be applied or whether it is available, Arora told Fibre2Fashion in an interview.

The need for home décor products to be far more sustainable and much more functional on aspects of health and hygiene has also increased, he added.

D'Decor has five plants in Tarapur.
