Education, training crucial for European footwear sector

Lack of advanced technical skills, an aging workforce, difficulty in attracting young workers, protectionist trends and trade wars are some of the major issues being faced by the European footwear sector, according to Luis Onofre, chairman of the European Confederation of the Footwear Industry (CEC). Education and training are crucial for the sector, he said.

IN the last few years, sale of sport shoes and sneakers has grown significantly and European brands are at the forefront of this trend, he told Fibre2Fashion in an interview.
