The Liberian government recently offered 40 million Liberian dollars (L$) to the Liberia National Tailors, Textile, Garment and Allied Workers Union to produce a million face masks within ten days for distribution in the affected areas and to vulnerable citizens. The amount was released through the COVID-19 National Response and Incidence Management System.

The Montserrado county, the most affected, will receive about half of a million face masks, according to Liberain media reports.

Minister of internal affairs and chairperson of the masks production project Varney A Sirleaf called on the union president to work with tailors from other counties to accelerate production.
