Columbia has also jumped on the US and EU bandwagon by imposing quota restrictions on Chinese socks' imports till July.

This will put further break in the production of cotton, woollen and chemical fibre socks in the mainland, as the manufacturers will receive fewer orders from Columbia.

Industry experts also opine that Zhuji city, the prolific producer of socks, might face a set back and production will be affected in a big way.

It is also viewed that some factories of Zhuji are likely to cease production completely on this account.
