In 2006, apparel accessories exports stood at US $490 million, a year–on–year increase of 4 percent.

During this period, footwear exports turnover generated revenue of $3.55 billion, up 16.9 percent over previous year.

Exports to EU declined but witnessed a sharp growth in US. Footwear exports to Japan also declined because of consumers demand for high quality goods than cheaper ones.
