Kewal Kiran net turnover reaches benchmark of Rs 100cr

Kewal Kiran Clothing Limited's (KKCL) total income for the year stood at Rs108.46 crores with its net turnover crossing Rs100 crores benchmark. Company's profit after tax was recorded at Rs15.44 crores with earnings per share of Rs12.57 per share for nine months.

The company this year sold 1.87 million garments with net realization of Rs551 per garment and retail realization of Rs. 932, a rise of 4 percent over last year.

Total income stands at Rs34 crores for third quarter and profit after tax at Rs3.62 crores with earnings per share of Rs2.94.

KKCL's brand stores, K-LOUNGE reached a tally of 49 with opening of seven K-LOUNGE stores. The 50th K-LOUNGE was launched at Ahmedabad on January 10, 2007.

It plans opening 38 K-LOUNGE stores next year, having an average area of 2000-2500 square feet. The company plans to expand retail space to 2,25,000 sq ft from the present 60,000 sq ft by end-2008.

For the company's new stitching facility, 53,000 square feet land with built-up area of 40,000 square feet was acquired.

First phase of this facility will become functional by April 2007 and second phase by September 2007, increasing the manufacturing capacity to 4 million pieces.

With an investment of Rs 33 lakhs in White Knitwear Private Limited (WKPL), KKCL plans further investments to lay claim to one-third equity stake in the company.
