With over 800 cap-making enterprises, Zhejiang Province's Wenling city has bagged the title of 'China's Cap City'.
The annual production value of all the cap-making enterprises exceeds three billion yuan. The yearly export value is more than US $50 million. These locally-made caps are exported to over 70 countries like Europe, America and Southeast Asia.
Apart from this, there are over 20 enterprises with a yearly production value exceeding thousands of millions of yuan. Special processing bases and markets have also been established.
Wenling's cap-making industry is traditional in nature as it includes manufacture of grass-weave caps, knitted caps and cloth caps.
Of these, cloth cap industry has a 20-year-old history while knitted caps have over 800 categories like beret, baseball caps, leisure caps, sunbonnets etc.
