J Jill Group appoints Lisa Bayne former SVP at Gymboree Corp

Women's specialty apparel retailer The J. Jill Group Inc announced the appointment of Lisa Bayne to the position of Executive Vice President/Chief Marketing Officer effective October 31, 2005. In this capacity, Bayne will be responsible for Marketing, Creative and Production Services. She will report to Gordon R. Cooke, President and Chief Executive Officer.
Bayne, 52, joins J. Jill from The Gymboree Corporation, a specialty retailer of apparel and accessories for children and women, where she served as Senior Vice President, Brand from 2003 to 2005. In this position, she was responsible for driving the Gymboree brands across all consumer touch-points, including advertising, in-store marketing, visual merchandising, direct mail and on-line campaigns.
Lisa also guided the redesign and launch of the updated Gymboree prototype stores, as well as the redesign of the Gymboree website. From 2001 to 2003, Bayne held the title of Senior Vice President, Marketing at retailer Smith and Hawken, where she played an integral role in the design of Smith and Hawken's catalog, in-store marketing, brand advertising, and proprietary packaging, in addition to the development of its website and public relations strategy.
Prior to that, Bayne spent 14 years at Eddie Bauer, where she held a number of positions, most recently Senior Vice President, Creative Services and Brand Marketing. During her tenure with Eddie Bauer, Bayne was responsible for the redesign of the retail apparel stores, as well as the strategic direction and repositioning of the US. retail stores through advertising, catalog, visual merchandising, store design, e-commerce and communications.
