Manufacturer of performance socks and accessories DeFeet International will now incorporate Unifi’s various fibres and yarns in its product portfolio. DeFeet will include products like Repreve, Sorbtek and XS Dynamic Tunable Cross-Section fibres into a variety of its products, beginning with Levitator Lite model, followed by all non-wool products.

Repreve brand of fibres are made from recycled materials, including plastic water bottles, while Sorbtek is Unifi’s moisture-management yarn. The combination of both creates a performance yarn that combines cooling and moisture-wicking properties with recycled benefits.

The addition of Unifi’s XS Dynamic Tunable Cross-Section technology enhances further the moisture-management and comfort properties.

“Our athletes have given the new fibre an unanimous thumbs up, but the more important fact is that it is a recycled yarn,” DeFeet founder Shane Cooper said. “Our lab tests are showing the best wicking performance we have ever seen, and it’s from a recycled product.” (AR)
