At present, the garment industry workers of Cambodia are getting a minimum wage of $153 per month. The minimum wage for garment and footwear workers for 2018 will be decided by the Labour Advisory Council (LAC) in October. The LAC comprises of representatives from the government, trade unions and employers.
The survey will be carried out on a sample of 1,500 garment workers in 75 factories of Phnom Penh and its provinces, said labour minister Ith Sam Heng in a statement. Beginning from July 31, 2017, the review is expected to continue till August 28, 2017. (RR)
