At the three-month summer sales in Catalonia region of Spain which ended earlier this week, clothing sector was able to achieve the set target that equaled their last year's turnover.
However, sales of textiles and apparels dipped by 20 percent during the last four years leading to closure of many businesses, according to Business Association of Textile Trade and Accessories (Acotex).
The Catalan textile sector gave five percent more discount in this year's summer sales, compared to last year, the Confederation of Commerce of Catalonia (CCC) said. It said that the sales can be considered “good” in view of the country passing through a difficult economic phase.
