Indian Terrain Fashions Ltd, which was formed after the split of Celebrity Fashions Ltd, a Chennai-based apparel producing firm, is now strategizing to soon penetrate into premium jeans wear segment.
Targeting a year-on-year rise of 23 percent, Indian Terrain is eyeing to hit a turnover of Rs. 1.5 billion during the current year. Presently, the company's offerings are in men's wear segment which includes formal wears and smart casual wears.
The company has plans to present new jeans wear in its premium denim wear segment during the current month. The firm proposes to exclusively ship denim from a US-based producer who engages in production of denim for top US brands.
Under the new segment, a pair of jeans would be priced at around Rs. 2,500 as against the company's current offerings in the mid-segment priced at around Rs. 1,000 per pair of jeans.
During the last fiscal, the Indian Terrain brand growing at a rate of 50 percent attained a turnover of Rs. 1.21 billion, up from 2009-10's turnover of Rs. 800 million, and has fixed a target of Rs. 1.5 billion for the current fiscal.
The brand presently operates 71 exclusive outlets, pan India.
