Speaking about prices of branded garments this year, Mr. Subrata Siddhanta, Executive Director - Apparel at Spencer's Retail Limited says, “The prices of branded garments this year will be more or less the same as the last year as all other costs remain high. Operation costs have increased as well due to increase in labour and raw material costs.”
Providing a solution for branded garment retailers, he opines, “Since the excise duty is not likely to be rolled back, the solution that can be devised is that retailers should go for honest pricing. If prices are honest and there is value product to offer, one can still do well.”
