Chinese consumer clothing prices up in Dec

The national consumer price index rose 4.1 percent year on year in December 2011, of which prices of clothing categories rose 3.8 percent, clothing prices rose 3.9 percent and footwear prices rose 3.1 percent, said the National Bureau of Statistics.

In December, non-food prices fell 0.1 percent from the previous month, dragging the overall price level down by about 0.06 percentage points. Among them, clothing prices rose 0.4 percent from the previous month.
