Levi Straus to launch iPod compatible jeans

Levi Strauss is going to launch RedWire DLX jeans, designed especially for iPod users.

The iPod compatible jeans will be priced at $200 (about Rs9000) and is scheduled to be launched in August.

The RedWire DLX jeans will have the facility for an iPod remote control and docking station to be fitted in its pockets. The jeans are sold with attached headphones.

With the sales of iPod's already crossing the 42 million mark worldwide, has further created a market for auxiliary industries ranging from plain covers to torches and radio transmitters.

Levi Strauss has been successful in turning around its fortunes after falling sales and higher costs had lowered its performance that affected its annual financial performance in recent years.
